Invoices and packing lists serve as essential commercial documents that play a significant role in facilitating customs and trade processes. The invoice, as the official purchase document and financial endorsement, includes complete details on the price, quantity, and specifications of the goods, which are crucial for calculating taxes and customs duties.

This certificate assures the customs of the importing country that the goods have been sent from the country declared in the documents and its information is consistent with other import documents. A certificate of origin is essential for many countries and assures the buyer that the purchased item is genuine and has been imported without legal problems. Due to the importance of this matter, Iranian customs in the TSC customs value system performs the valuation of the goods based on the country of origin, and the unit value of the goods may be different depending on the exporting country.

2- Controlling exchanges with prohibited countries
The certificate of origin also allows customs to prevent the import of goods from countries that are prohibited for legal reasons and sanctions. By using this certificate, it is ensured that no trade has taken place with countries from which imports have been declared illegal and that the goods have been imported from authorized and legal sources.

Bill of Lading:Essential for Goods Transportation The bill of lading is a primary document in the import process, issued by the transport company, and serves as a contract for goods transportation between the seller, buyer, and transport company. This document includes essential details such as the loading location, destination, and transport terms. Bills of lading may have different names depending on the type of transport (ground, sea, air, or rail). After the shipment arrives at the customs warehouse, the information on the bill of lading serves as the basis for issuing the warehouse receipt by the warehousing authority (under customs supervision) and the release note by the international shipping company, which are crucial for completing the customs clearance process.

Inspection Certificate: Guaranteeing Goods Quality and Condition When a bank acts as an intermediary between the seller and the buyer, providing an inspection certificate is mandatory. Depending on the type of goods and the destination country’s regulations, this certificate may be optional in some transactions. Warehouse Receipt: Proof of Goods Ownership Upon arrival at customs, a warehouse receipt is issued as a necessary document indicating that goods have entered the customs warehouse. This document includes essential details, such as the type, quantity, storage conditions, and the exact storage location within the customs warehouse. The warehouse receipt can serve as a proof of goods ownership, as from the moment it is issued, the goods in the warehouse are under the control of the designated entity. Before the release note is issued, the ownership is under the international shipping company; after issuance, the buyer is recognized as the official owner approved by customs.

Release Note: Certificate of Goods Ownership Transfer The release note is one of the final necessary documents in the import process, issued by the international shipping company. This document signifies the transfer of ownership from the international shipping company to the goods’ owner (buyer). Without a release note, customs clearance cannot proceed. The release note serves as proof to customs that the ownership transfer from the shipping company to the buyer has occurred, after which the customs clearance and goods release process can be completed.
